Auction FAQ
Why does St Francis have an auction and Gala?
This is our main fundraising event of the year. All of the proceeds from this event go into the schools operating account to help offset tuition. It costs $8000 to educate a child at St Francis and our tuition falls short of that cost. Although it is our main fundraiser of the year, our first priority is community. This evening is our chance to come together as a community and support a common goal.
How much are tickets?
It is free to register to attend online. We do have some fun VIP tickets to add a little pizazz to your evening; individual, couple or family. These are available for purchase until March 18th and include a goodie basket that can be picked up on March 27th 9am-12noon at a drive-thru at St. Francis.
Where is the auction held?
This year everything is entirely online. No need to leave your house!
What time is the Auction & Gala?
Silent Auction 1 (Raffle tickets & Key Numbers) - Now until March 27th at Noon
Silent Auction 2 (All silent auction packages) - March 24th at Noon until March 27th at 5:30pm
Live Auction & Fund-A-Need - Saturday, March 27th at 7pm
What do I wear?
Your choice this year as its virtual. Make a night of it and dress up or attend in your pajamas.
Can I bring a guest, who does not go to St. Francis Elementary or belongs to the Parish?
Absolutely! The auction and gala is a chance for us to celebrate our community. With our event being virtual this year, more of the community far and wide can participate.
What is the run down for the evening?
Following registration you will be able to purchase raffle tickets and key numbers until March 27th at Noon. On Wednesday, March 24th the Silent Auction opens and you will be able to bid on the items up until 5:30pm on March 27th. At 7pm on March 27th, we will start our live-stream auction, with Julissa Ortiz as Emcee and Auctioneer Parnell. The evening will be opened with a prayer from Father Desmond O’Reilly and a welcome from Mr Ivan Hrga, our Principal. After this the live auction will run for about an hour. We have several live auction lots that include vacation homes, staff experiences, art and our Fund-A-Need. Also this year, we have Magician Max Davidson performing tricks throughout the live auction. Once the live auction has finished, we will end with thank you’s and goodbyes.
How does bidding work?
Registration is online through the link on the main page. Once registered you are all set to bid. Different silent auctions open and close at different times. You can make a list of items to watch and bid on items. You will receive a text every time you have been out bid.
Do I have to buy something at the auction?
No! We hope you do. It is free to register and enjoy.
When do I pay for items that I have won?
You will add a credit card at the time of registering for the auction. This credit card will then be charged after the event.
How do I pick up my winning items?
We will have items available for pick-up on Sunday, March 28th from St. Francis. We will not be able to send items to people.
What is new this year?
This year our theme is 125th Anniversary. For the first time ever we are partnering with St. Francis Parish to hold a joint event. This event will also be entirely virtual. You will sign up online and bid online. During the live auction, a magician will at times be performing tricks for our online audience.
What kind of items are up for grabs?
We have a variety of items in our silent auction, generously donated by people in our community. Many are made up into baskets or remain as single items. It can be anything from toys and games to event tickets to food/drink or even art. The Live auction includes bigger items such as teacher experiences, class projects, vacation homes and art. We also have a cash raffle and a locked box with lots of goodies.
